1. What dihydrocodeine 30mg is for
For moderate to severe pain that hasn’t responded to paracetamol or ibuprofen.
2. Before you take it
Do not take if you:
- Are allergic to dihydrocodeine or any ingredient
- Have severe breathing problems
- Are having an acute asthma attack
- Have head injury with raised intracranial pressure
- Have just had bowel surgery
- Take MAOI antidepressants
Tell your prescriber if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly, have liver/kidney problems, low blood pressure, an enlarged prostate, or an underactive thyroid.
3. How to take it
- One tablet (30mg) every 4–6 hours as needed
- Maximum 180mg in 24 hours
- Swallow whole with water
- Take with food to reduce nausea
